It's acrylic, that's why it is water based. It dries really quickly but the good point is that being a plastic paint, you can clean up your painting with a wet cloth if it ever goes dusty.

So I am new to this, and I have a kit, but I have run into an issue where the paint is dryed up. How do I revive it without messing it up? I've noticed the darker colors are fine, but lighter ones are dry.

My kit came without a frame and the canvas was folded! had to iron out the creases.

Amazing! What scanner and printer did you used to print square picture?

If they don't give you a paper colour chart for reference, take a photo of the canvas before you start painting. Then if you have to go back over, you have a record of the right colours and where they go.

Paint by numbers, what they don't tell you... If you can't count then this is a hopeless paint job. Stick with finger painting...No counting required. HAAA

So you ever cover the number with a white paint marker? Or just white paint? So that you do t have to e to do 3,4,5 layers on the light colors? Or does that not come out as well?

I have a hard time , once youve colored the number and the line , sometimes it’s hard for me to see where I’m supposed to paint , it is hard to tell if I’ve done the outline or if I’m supposed to fill it in to the next line . You’d think it would be super easy but it’s a lot more challenging. I agree with all the challenges you mentioned ! Especially about the thickness. I struggle to get the right amount of water to paint on my brush , I want it to spread evenly and go far but not turn into a watercolor

Yes I’ve been painting randomly all over 😂 I’ve just done a few spots and day .

I always just add water to my brush to thin it out

I got a couple from craftoria and they are so much harder than I thought they would be 😂😂😂😂 I got 2 for Christmas and I have barely started one so far . I ordered 6 more that are on their way

i just discovered paint by numbers a few minutes ago and it really got me interested. how long did it take you to finish this piece?

I've heard on other alcohol marker tutorials that you have to keep a wet edge in order to have smooth blending. Does that not apply to Copic markers (or the paper) because of the quality of the supply? Or is this something that just requires practice? Your work is absolutely amazing and I'm so thankful for your tutorials. I have a very cheap beginner alcohol marker set that I think is meant for kids so if I let it dry between layers it starts to look like stripes. I love the effects i get with alcohol markers and colored pencils so I think I'm ready to level up, but I'm not sure if it's better to start with better paper or the alcohol markers first? I would love a suggestion.

The paint is water-based acrylic. 99% of kits are acrylic. Not water based oil.
